Soccer pictures will be Friday, January 29, 2021. Please make sure each player brings their personal uniform that will be distributed next week.
Girls will take pictures first @ 2:00pm. Girls that are participating in virtual school or did not come to SHS that day need to arrive and be ready at 2pm to take their pictures first.
Boys will start @ 3:00pm and will follow the same procedures as the girls, meaning if any boys are virtual they need to arrive on time and take their pictures first.
**Seniors, please be aware that the photographer, Shuttleman, will need a parent email contact. After pictures are taken, every senior will need to go on his website & register like they are buying the banner to pick the pose they want on their senior banner. They will not be purchasing the banner as the soccer board will pay for every senior banner. Seniors will get to keep the banners at the end of the season.

Parents, We would like to clarify some of the rules that the school has concerning tickets and entrance into our games. The following get in free to our games: Madison County employees with a current 2020-2021 badge; no "plus one" Madison City employees with a current 2020-2021 badge; no "plus one" Huntsville City employees with a current 2020-2021 badge; no "plus one" Referees that present a referee ID card Coaches and players from both teams Volunteers that are signed up for the game- if you are staying for the game after you volunteer, you are expected to pay for that game. The ticket gate will now have a list of volunteers based on our sign-up genius. Anyone that has purchased a Sparkman season pass Coaches, including teacher coaches/reps, receive one additional ticket free per game We do not honor: Other schools' season passes Teachers from other schools outside of the three listed above Retired or former employees of the three listed above As always, we want to keep our volunteers safe. Do NOT ever get into a situation with a parent that could potentially put you in harm's way. We have received confirmation that the girl's tryouts for Sparkman Soccer will be October 20-22 from 4-6 p.m. (Rain out date will be October 23.)
**Here is the information from Coach Jennings regarding the new procedures due to COVID-19:**
Players cannot come onto the soccer field (inside the fenced area) until their temperature is taken. I will begin taking temperatures at 3:40 each day. If their temperature is 100 or above, then the player will not be allowed to tryout that day. Masks must remain on until tryouts begin. We will do our best to keep the girls separated as much as possible. If they are more than 6 feet apart outside then they can pull their masks down. Players are to have their own water bottles and not share with each other. Please use the restroom before tryouts, as this will prevent anyone going inside the buildings. There will be hand sanitizer available. There are required forms that need to be filled out correctly and uploaded to Dragonflymax prior to the first day of tryouts. If at least one form is not correct or uploaded/turned into me by the first session, that player will not be allowed on the field until it is correct/completed. "When a student and their parent fills out the Pre-Participation Physical portion digitally, they must print this page out with the back of the form for the doctor to sign. Both pages should be taken to the doctor for the physical. If a parent says “Yes” on the first page it signifies this with a number in the DF system. Please make sure parents take both sides of the form and they are seen by the doctor. " It is a benefit for the pre-participation to be completed online, but parents need to know that they will need a hard copy of the information when it comes time for the physical.

Parents, As we begin our season, we need to be mindful of our conduct as we cheer for our teams. When we play games at Sparkman High School, we are hosting another school. We should always hold ourselves to a high standard and act as gracious hosts. It is standard practice to have all fans sitting on the home side of our stadium for soccer games. The visitor side will be roped off for any future home games to avoid having anyone near the players. I would like for our visitors to feel welcome and for all of us to represent our school and our soccer program in a positive way. Emotions often run high, especially when the game or a call does not go our way. There should never be an instance where anyone from either school feels threatened. I ask that we refrain from profanity, especially when addressing parents from opposing schools. There are often younger siblings at our games, and they should be able to enjoy watching their brother or sister play without hearing profanity and negativity. Thank you.
The booster club board members will be available to receipt money for dues on Monday, February 3rd at 5:00 p.m. at the stadium field. We will also be selling all of the old uniforms on Monday. Seniors will get first priority in purchasing, then all other athletes may purchase. The cost of last year's kit (two jerseys and two pairs of shorts) will be $25. Old backpacks will be $10 and all other uniform pieces will be $5 each. Cash or checks made out to Sparkman High School will be accepted. If you have a uniform kit from last year, we ask that you pay $25 or return it on Monday.

The following is from Gina Menold, our freshman team manager who is coordinating backpack embroidery: Parents and Players, I am able to extend the deadline for name embroidery on the player backpacks. I will be located at Field 8 at the Decatur Soccer Complex from approximately 1:00-3:00. Please empty your bag, put $5 in the bag, zip up all pockets, CLEARLY write your last name on a piece of paper, include what team you are on, and staple it to the handle of the bag. Based on number of bags, they should be returned in 2-3 weeks. We are NOT responsible for misspellings. Make sure your name is LARGE and CLEARLY written. Include the team you play on in small lettering as well. You may also bring your bag to Boston butt pick up. One of the booster board members will collect and deliver to Gina. Parents/Athletes, Shuttleman Photography contacted us concerning make-up pictures. He will be set up to take photos at his home on Saturday, February 1 at 6:00 p.m. This is the only make-up time that he has given us right now. He is very busy with other team photos and senior pictures, so please make it a priority to go on Saturday if you missed the first session. You can contact him directly at to get the address for pictures or if you would like to discuss another time for photos. Seniors, if you have not had your photo taken, please do so on Saturday. Shuttleman will be printing the senior banners soon and we want to make sure that all seniors are included. Go Senators!
Parents/Players, Our provider for the Boston Butts has graciously agreed to an earlier pick up time since we have teams that are playing at 9:00 at the ref clinic on Saturday. Please understand that the pickup date/time was coordinated in early December. The ref clinic schedule was just released and we have no control over the times that we play. JV Boys AND Varsity Girls ONLY- pick up for Boston butts will begin at 7:00 a.m. All other teams may pick up between 7:30-8:30 a.m. Any Boston butts that are not picked up will be put in coolers and MUST be picked up by 12:00 p.m. from me at 194 Gokee Rd. I do not have the capability to properly store that many food items past noon. There are no afternoon pick ups-this is a food safety issue and we cannot distribute food items after they have reached a certain temperature. Dues are $650. $200 is due by January 15, 2020. The remaining $450 can be paid in installments through the season. The booster board will post dates when we are available to receipt money. Fees can also be paid online through myschoolfees.com.
